We are excited to announce that our November FSU Guest Speaker will be Bryan Townsend, State Senator for Delaware’s 11th Senatorial District (Newark-Bear), 2016 candidate for U.S. Congress, and attorney in Wilmington. He has a breadth of knowledge and experience in working with Delaware’s citizens with I/DD.

Families Speaking Up would like to thank Thomas Cook for taking the time to offer his guidance in navigating the person-centered planning process. It is imperative to understand it as your child ages out of schooling and enters the adult world. Thomas Cook, Executive Director of the Delaware Association of Rehabilitation Facilities, reviewed the federal requirements for person-centered planning and discussed a process for determining “the most integrated setting appropriate” for our family members.
